Continuous Development

What is continuous development?

Continuous development is an approach to software and product development that includes continuous integration, testing, delivery and deployment. This combination of processes allows the team to iterate and automate much of software development.

Why is continuous development important?

By building on agile software development concepts, modern development teams have found ways to bring value to customers incrementally and faster with the practices of continuous development. This approach allows developers teams to remain flexible and quickly turn out updates while automating much of the manual processes that slow down releases.

Here are some benefits of continuous development:

  • Faster and more frequent value to customers
  • Less risk of large projects or batches
  • Less overhead and costs for testing and deploying
  • Fewer issues experiences by customers
