What is product onboarding?

Product onboarding is the introduction of the product to users and the initial education on primary features, which is a crucial part of the product experience and product adoption process.

In some cases, SaaS companies use product onboarding to ensure software gets set up properly, and teams are educated to lock in customer retention and increase product adoption. Companies that have a mobile app or web app to interact with their product show tutorials and walkthroughs to get users started quickly and reach adoption.
