Delta Success Score

What is the Delta Success Score?

The Delta Success Score balances the impact of positive feedback like praise, negative feedback like issues, and improvement ideas to show the overall success of your product in real time. The ranges from 0-100, with higher scores indicating more positive experiences and lower scores the opposite.

Why is the Delta Success Score important?

The Delta Success Score is well on its way to being one of the most important key performance indicators (KPI) for a product in the pre-release state because it predicts product success when released or launched. The score gives product teams an observation metric based on the behaviors of testers submitting feedback while using the product.

Some of the benefits of the Delta Success Score are:

  • Identifying key drivers of positive and negative experiences
  • Prioritizing improvements based on their impact to the total product success
  • Comparing between other products within your organization and across an industry of user testing

How do you calculate the Delta Success Score?

The Delta Success Score is calculated using a simple formula: take the difference between the percentage of positive and negative oriented feedback to generate a score from 0-100. Positive feedback typically refers to Praise, while negative feedback is generated from Issues. Ideas are also included within the calculation as part of the percentage of total feedback.
