Psychographic Segmentation

What is psychographic segmentation?

Psychographic segmentation is the grouping of customers or potential customers based on their beliefs, opinions, lifestyles, or values. Psychographics are a type of attitudinal or motivational segmentation where demographic and technographic data tends to be more behavioral or detailed about a specific person. Another comparison is that psychographics are qualitative and the other behavioral segmentations tend to be quantitative.

Examples of psychographic data:

  • Enjoys working out
  • Concerned with security of their data
  • Prefers quality products over cheaper products
  • Would rather stay in than go out
